What are you watching on TV at the moment?

I love having a nosey at what people are watching on TV so thought I'd share the shows that are currently on my sky planner. Make sure you let me know what you're watching at the moment too.

What are you watching on TV at the moment?

Steve and I love Netflix and I cannot imagine life without it now. We tend to watch one episode of whichever boxset we're watching every evening. We've just finished You which I found to be just OK and have now started on series 2 of The Punisher. The Punisher is rated 18 and is VERY violent/bloody  - sometimes a little too much for me but it's gritty/interesting and I did really enjoy series 1 despite having to look away from the screen a lot of the time. We've just watched one episode so far but so far, so good.

Sunday Night TV

Sunday night has never really been a time that I've traditionally watched TV but this year I really wanted to watch Dancing on Ice due to the GC being in it and I've really enjoyed watching this show and wish I'd watched earlier. I'm in awe of the celebs and how much progress they're making - some of them seem like pros already. I was disappointed to see Richard Blackwood go last week as I thought he was fab but I suppose somebody has to!

This year is also the first time we've watched Vera - mainly due to seeing it being filmed in both Whitley Bay and Cramlington over the summer. I might be in a minority here but I find it a little boring to be honest but I love spotting various North East locations on screen so will continue watching for that I think. 2 hours just seems too long and it's always some massive wild goose chase that seems drawn out. I think it would be better if it was on for 1 hour and speeded along a little. I loved seeing Amble's Fish Shack last Sunday.

Cleaning Up

I'm sick of seeing dramas on Googlebox and wishing we'd watched them so decided to give Cleaning Up a go before it was mentioned. I love Sheridan Smith and The C Word is one of the most powerful dramas I've ever watched. Again though, Cleaning Up isn't brilliant and is just in the 'watchable' category for me. I think Sheridan Smith plays a fab part, especially how gripped she is by addiction but Steve always complains that Sheridan Smith always plays the same part. I find a lot of the show to be unbelievable  - like when there was a fire drill, why on earth did the staff not secure their computers? This just would not happen in real life. It is an easy watch though and I do want to see how the story plays out.

Dragon's Den, Teen Mom OG and Casualty

These are my three TV staples which I've been watching for years and years and years. I adore watching Dragon's Den (Peter Jones is my favourite) and watching entrepreneurs pitch their inventions, ideas and products. You'd think as the show has been going on for so long that people may learn from past issues but they still make the same mistakes time and time again (like over-valuing their business). It is a little bit like car-crash TV but definitely one of my guilty pleasures.

Another show I've watched from the start is Teen Mom OG (I also love Teen Mom UK and Teen Mom 2). I watched these shows during my various pregnancies/early years of motherhood and kind of feel like I've grown up with the girls. Maci is my favourite - the way she's been dealing with Ryan's addiction and has a strong work ethic is really to be admired. At the moment I really feel for Tyler too - I hope he gets the space he needs and can work things through with Catelyn. These two have been through so much and it's sad to see them growing apart. I'm not too keen on the new girls though and think they should have just kept it with the original girls but given them more screen time.

Casualty is something I've watched since I was a child and it's one of the only TV shows I refuse to ever miss. I love the drama and characters and the weekend wouldn't be the same for me without Casualty. Alesha and Dilan are my current faves - I would be more than happy if either of these were my doctor.

Secret Life of the Zoo

After visiting Chester Zoo last year we love watching this show which shares some of the action from behind the scenes. We usually record this show and watch it together as a family over dinner one night. I love seeing all of the different animals' personalities and it's so obvious how much their keepers care for them. We usually learn some interesting facts too.

Impractical Jokers

Impractical Jokers is another TV show we record and then watch together as a family over dinner. If you haven't watched it, you need it in your life. A group of 4 guys just basically set each other crazy challenges (like see how many loo rolls you can put in somebody's shopping trolley before they realise). It's just lots of good fun and something we all enjoy - life would be a lot more dull if Impractical Jokers weren't in our lives.

I really feel like we're missing something decent to watch on Friday night at the end of a busy week at the moment. We usually enjoy HIGNFY, The Last Leg and GoggleBox but they aren't scheduled right nowt. Hopefully they'll be back soon.

What are you watching on TV at the moment? Let me know if you have any recommendations.....

  1. My fella has been watching The Punisher. He really likes it but I don't think it's for me.
I am loving Dancing on Ice. I can't help but laugh when I see Gemma Collins. She is such a diva! Ahh! I saw about 3 minutes of Vera and spotted it was Amble! Aww!
I have been recording Cleaning up but I got around to catching up. I wish I had waited and watched it all in one go. I want to see what happens next, now!
I've been watching Casualty since I was a kid. I love Dylan too. He is so funny.
The Last Leg is back on Friday! Hooray!

  2. My husband has also been watching The Punisher but it sounds too gory for me. We have also just finished watching You and I really enjoyed it, and we are still debating what to watch on Netflix now. We have been watching Cold Feet which I absolutely love as the characters have similar aged children to us, it's like a lesson in parenting lol. We also plan to start watching Cleaning Up too x

  3. Chatting TV is literally my favourite thing to do at the moment .. I've really got the Netflix craze (years after everyone else!) .. working my way through Marie Kondo at the moment, watched the Fyre Festival documentary last night (WOW!) and really want to watch Sex Education or You next!

So glad you're enjoying Dancing on Ice, I've watched it since the very beginning and have always thought it's far more impressive than Strictly because the celebs are learning a very very difficult and dangerous skill. Just wait until the later weeks when they start doing the crazy lifts and the head banger!

I keep thinking about starting on Vera too, I can't believe I've never watched it! It's 2 hours!!! OMG!

mmm, the other things I'm watching are complete trash! Been enjoying Spencer, Vogue and Baby Too - basically about Spencer Matthews becoming a Dad, it's actually pretty funny because Vogue and Spencer just constantly take the piss out of each other. She's definitely been very good for him! Also finally watched that Bros documentary that was on over Christmas, that's pretty good!

  4. the secret life of the zoo is my all time fave! i made the kids walk round and they were nearly crying they were so tired when we went to the zoo. haha ive also heard really good things about the punisher too
